Work with us

The Birdhouse Hospitality runs five small properties across Dharamkot, Bir, and McLeodganj. We’re a small team, which means the work is varied, the decisions are quick, and what you do is visible to guests the same week you do it.

We care more about how you treat a guest at 11pm than about where you studied. If the mountains are where you want to work — not just visit — read on.

Open roles

Sales & Reservations Associate

McLeodganj / Dharamkot · Full-time

You’re the first voice a guest hears. Most of our bookings start with a phone call or a WhatsApp message — you’ll answer them, understand what the guest is looking for, and match them to the right property and room. You’ll own the enquiry from first call to confirmed booking.

What you’ll do
  • Handle incoming booking calls and WhatsApp enquiries across all five properties
  • Convert enquiries into direct bookings — know each property well enough to recommend honestly
  • Manage reservations in our booking system and coordinate with property teams on arrivals
  • Follow up with past guests and pending enquiries
What you bring
  • Fluent, warm Hindi and English on the phone — this is the core of the job
  • Patience with repeat questions and the ability to stay kind at the end of a long day
  • Basic comfort with WhatsApp Business, spreadsheets, and a booking system (we’ll train you on ours)
A big plus
  • Experience with travel agents — if you can build and manage agent relationships that bring us group business, this role grows with you

Marketing Manager

Dharamkot base, hybrid possible · Full-time

We currently post on Instagram. That’s it — and we know it’s not enough. This role is a genuine, ground-up marketing push across every channel where mountain travellers actually decide where to stay. You’ll own the whole thing: strategy, calendar, execution, and the numbers.

What you’ll do
  • Own marketing across Google (Business Profiles, Search, reviews), Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Reddit, and Quora — each channel on its own terms, not the same post pasted everywhere
  • Grow direct bookings — the metric this role is measured on
  • Build and run a content calendar across five properties and three towns
  • Answer traveller questions on Reddit and Quora in a way that builds trust, not spam
  • Work with our photography-forward brand — the photos carry the story; your job is to get them seen
What you bring
  • Proof you’ve grown something before — an account, a channel, a booking funnel. Show us numbers
  • Writing that sounds like a person, in English and Hindi
  • Comfort with Google Business Profile, Meta tools, and basic analytics
  • Enough taste to know that “world-class luxury experience” is not how we talk

Brand & Guest Experience Manager

Across all properties, Dharamkot base · Full-time

Five properties, one brand. Right now each property has its own character — which we love — but the polish varies more than it should. Your job is to bring every stay to the same standard so a guest who loved the Retreat gets the same care, the same details, and the same feel at the Villa or the Monal.

What you’ll do
  • Audit all five properties regularly — rooms, linen, signage, welcome experience, small details
  • Define what “a Birdhouse stay” means in practice, and write the standards down so teams can follow them
  • Train and support property teams to deliver that standard consistently
  • Own the guest experience end to end — from booking confirmation message to checkout
  • Close the loop on guest feedback: what guests tell us should change what we do
What you bring
  • Hospitality experience where you were responsible for standards, not just tasks
  • An eye for detail — you notice the crooked lampshade and the missing hook
  • The ability to raise standards without flattening what makes each property different
  • Willingness to travel between Dharamkot, Bir, and McLeodganj every week

Front Desk Manager

McLeodganj / Dharamkot · Full-time

The steady hands of the property. You’ll run the front desk day to day — check-ins, guest questions, housekeeping coordination — and be the person guests trust to sort things out quickly and quietly.

What you’ll do
  • Manage check-ins, check-outs, and everything guests need in between
  • Coordinate housekeeping and maintenance so rooms are ready when they should be
  • Handle walk-in enquiries and on-site booking questions
  • Keep the daily records straight — arrivals, payments, handovers
What you bring
  • Front desk or guest-facing hospitality experience
  • Calm under pressure — arrival days in season are busy
  • Hindi and English; local knowledge of the Dharamshala area is a plus

How we hire

No lengthy process. We read every application, reply within a week, and if there’s a fit we’ll talk on the phone first, then meet — ideally at one of the properties, so you can see the work before you commit to it. We’re happy to hear from good people even when the exact role isn’t listed.

Apply

Use the form below, or email us at [email protected] with the role in the subject line. Tell us briefly why this role, and attach or link your CV. A short WhatsApp voice note introducing yourself works too — for the sales role, it’s actually the best possible CV.
