Whether you’re staying at one of our boutique properties or just dropping by for a slice of cake, we’re here to make you feel at home — surrounded by nature, comfort, and a touch of magic.
Our journey began in 2018, with a dream and a little café in the village of Dharamkot. That dream became The Birdhouse Cakery — a warm, inviting space where people came for the cakes but stayed for the vibe. Somewhere between steaming cups of coffee and the smell of freshly baked goods, we fell in love with the idea of offering more than just food — we wanted to create spaces that felt like home.
In 2021, that dream grew wings with the opening of The Birdhouse Retreat, a peaceful bed & breakfast perched on the edge of the forest in upper Dharamkot. With uninterrupted views of pine-covered valleys and starry night skies, it quickly became a hidden gem for those seeking quiet, connection, and inspiration.
The next year, in 2022, we opened The Birdhouse Villa, Bir — a bright, stylish hideaway in the heart of the small town of Bir, offering cozy luxury and unmatched access to Bir’s adventure and energy. In 2023, we expanded to H.H. Dalai Lama’s abode with The Bougainvillea, Mcleodganj, a boutique property perched above the bustle, offering sweeping views, elegant rooms, and a deep sense of calm — all just a short stroll from the town center. Each space we create is different, but all of them carry our signature warmth, attention to detail, and a deep love for the mountains.
And in 2025, we opened our latest nest — Little Bird Homes, Dharamkot. Tucked away just a short walk from the Cakery, this charming stay blends laid-back village life with boutique comfort, perfect for solo travelers, couples, or anyone looking for a quiet escape with personality.
